ARTISTS' INTENT
I would like to express my gratitude for all the letters of
appreciation sent on behalf of "Welcome Home", the first piece I
created for the benefit of our servicemembers.
It was from these letters that I realized the amazing bond created
between soldiers who fight side by side.
The soldiers that survive to experience their welcoming home are also
war torn, grieving for their fallen comrades. This memorial piece
seeks to represent and express that grief.
It is called "The Cabinet". "The Cabinet" represents the place where
special items are kept by the surviving families for generations to
come. There will be no heirs to hand down; just the funerary flag and
dog tags.
The loss of a single soldiers affects not just families, friends
and comrades, but all of America.
